8 Remove the system battery by prying it out with a screwdriver.
9 Install the new system battery.

Hold the battery with the "+" facing up, and aligned to the "+"
terminal on the socket.

Press the battery straight down into the socket until it snaps into
place.

10 Install the fan cage. See "Installing a Fan Cage" on page 139.
11 Install the fan modules. See "Installing a Cooling-Fan Module" on

page 137.

12 Install the cooling shroud. See "Installing the Cooling Shroud" on page 88.
13 Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 86.
14 Place the system upright and on its feet on a flat, stable surface.
15 Rotate the system feet outward.
16 Reattach any peripherals and connect the system to an electrical outlet.
17 Turn on the system and attached peripherals.
18 Enter the System Setup program to confirm that the battery is operating

properly. See "Using the System Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager"
on page 57.

19 Enter the correct time and date in the System Setup program's Time and

Date fields.

20 Exit the System Setup program.

Removing the Control Panel Assembly

WARNING:

Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system

cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this
procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.

1 Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect

the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals.

2 Remove the Front Bezel. See "Removing the Front Bezel" on page 84.
