Description
-Sync
Synchronizes restored databases and
reallocates missing replica volumes.
You must run DpmSync –Sync after you
restore the databases.
After you run DpmSync –Sync, some replicas
may still be marked as missing. To reallocate
these replicas, on the Disks tab of
the Management task area in DPM
Administrator Console, remove the missing
disks from DPM and then run DpmSync -
reallocatereplica.
-DpmDbLoc location
Identifies the location of backup of DPM
database.
-DpmReportDbLoc location
Identifies the location of backup of Report
database.
-ReallocateReplica
Reallocates all missing replica volumes without
synchronization.

Example
To restore the DPM and Report databases from local backup media on the DPM server, you run
the following commands:
DpmSync -DpmDbLoc G:\DPM\Backups\2005\November\DPMDB.bak
DpmSync -DpmReportDbLoc G:\DPM\Backups\2005\November\ReportServer.bak
After you restore the DPM and Report databases, to synchronize the databases, you run the
following command:
DpmSync -Sync
After you restore and synchronize the DPM and Report databases and before you restore the
replicas, you run the following command to reallocate disk space for the replicas:
DpmSync -ReallocateReplica
