69 Maintenance and Lubrication
Fertilizer Clean Out
After using fertilizer in the Verti-Drill, clean drill
box as soon as possible.
1. With a small scoop or can, remove as much
fertilizer as possible from drill box.

2. Unlatch clean-out doors. Be prepared to col-
lect fertilizer that spills from drill box.
Refer to Figure 45
3. Wash inside of drill box with water under high
pressure. To aid clean out, lift vinyl washout
cover and spray into fertilizer tray.
Storage
Store implement where children do not play. If
possible, store inside for longer implement life.
1. Clean implement as necessary. Be sure seed
boxes are cleaned completely before storing.
2. Lubricate all fittings as indicated under Lubri-
cation, page 70.
When in storage, lower openers on a board or
hard surface. Apply a light coat of oil to exposed
cylinder rods.
