Transport Lift Cylinders
The transport-lift cylinders are rephasing hydraulic cyl-
inders. After a period of normal use, the cylinders may
get out of sequence. If this happens, the hitch will lift
unevenly or one set of tires will not retract from the soil.

To rephase cylinders, raise drill completely and hold
hydraulic lever on for a few seconds to allow cylinders
time to rephase.

Fertilizer Operation

The fertilizer drill is equipped with a moveable divider
that partitions the drill box between the seed and the
fertilizer.

Use only dry, granular fertilizer in the fertilizer
compartment.

1.

Clean any seed or debris from fertilizer compart-
ment.

2.

Calibrate fertilizer-application rate as explained
under Fertilizer Rate Calibration, “Adjustments,”
page 37.

3.

Check that divider door is closed so seed and fer-
tilizer cannot pass between compartments.

Refer to Figure 12

4.

For field operation, use the crank handle (1) as a
key to push calibration shaft index collar in and ro-
tate to the right.

NOTE: Decals located next to calibration shaft index
collars indicate proper rotation for calibration and field
operation.

WARNING

Towing the implement at high speeds or with a vehicle that
is not heavy enough can lead to loss of vehicle control. Loss
of vehicle control can lead to serious road accidents, injury
and death. To reduce the hazard:

Do not exceed 32 kph (20 mph).

Do not tow an implement that, when fully loaded,

weighs more than 1.5 times the weight of the towing ve-
hicle.

1.

Check that implement is securely hitched to a suf-
ficient tractor. Refer to Hitching Tractor to Imple-
ment
, “Preparation and Setup,” page 17. Make
sure safety chain is secured to tractor.

2.
