For the Smart Probe the Certified 99% Reflectance
Reference is used. It comes with a diskette or CD, which
must be used during Reference Standardization of the
Smart Probe or OptiProbe.

Place the standard onto the Smart Probe, hold in place,
and click on “OK”.

Vision prompts the user to rotate the Certified 99% Reflectance Reference. This is done to minimize
the directional effects of the standard, and provide best consistency. Note the label on the standard,
and rotate 90 degrees at each prompt.

Vision takes a spectrum of the Certified
Reflectance Reference, as indicated by the status
bar on screen. When finished, Vision plots a
spectrum of the ceramic instrument reference,
as shown.

Click “OK” to plot a spectrum of the Certified
Reflectance Reference.

The Certified 80% Reflectance Reference is
shown with the spectrum of the ceramic
instrument reference.

Click “OK” to plot a correction spectrum.

The correction spectrum represents the amount
of spectral correction required to provide a
virtual 100% reflectance reference at each data
point.
