4.1 Installation
4.1.1 PCI Model
Installation of the SQM-242 PCI card requires the driver disk supplied with the card. If
the card is the second of two SQM-242 PCI cards, a jumper must also be placed on the
bottom two pins of JP5 of the card before installation.
Driver Installation
1. Insert the Sigma Instruments Utilities CD-ROM.
2. In Windows select Start, then Run.
3. Browse to the \SQM-242 Card\Driver Install folder on the CD-ROM.
4. Run the Setup program.
SQM-242 PCI Card Installation
1. Power down the computer and install the SQM-242 in an available PCI slot.
2. Power up the computer.
3. If desired, check Windows Device Manager for proper card installation.
4.1.2 ISA Model
The SQM-242 ISA card uses a hardware interrupt (IRQ) to communicate with the
SQS-242 software. Before installation, your computer BIOS and Windows operating
system must be configured to accept the SQM-242 ISA card.

Find an unused IRQ. The default SQM-242 setting is IRQ 10.
Set SQM-242
Jumpers
Set JP2 to an available IRQ.
JP3 sets the I/O address. The default address (180) will work
on most systems.
Note: A slave card requires no IRQ jumper, and an address
400 above the primary card address. See address settings
below:
