Express Modem control panel
The Express Modem control panel is the nerve center for controlling and
monitoring modem functions.
Setting the modem
The Express Modem control panel contains a field for setting certain modem
functions. Most communications applications allow you to set the same
functions. It is important to understand how to override application settings.
Overriding application settings
Because the Express Modem opens associations with up to three applications
at a time (see Call Management in this Appendix), for the sake of easy
management, it is important to be able to override application settings.
Express Settings take precedence over application settings as explained below,
so remember to check Express Settings if an application does not behave as
intended.
Monitoring the modem
The Express Modem control panel contains a status field for monitoring
modem functions such as, call progress and connection state before, during,
and after a call is made.
