Use the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM to perform a complete recovery of the operating system and
Toshiba Utilities, and follow the steps below.
When you reinstall the complete system, the hard disk will be reformatted and all data on it will
be lost. Make sure you have a backup copy of your data, before you perform a complete system
recovery.
1.
Make sure the computer's power is off and insert the Recovery Boot Disk in the diskette
drive, then turn on the power.
2.
Windows 98/Windows 95: Insert the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM, Disk #1 in the computer's
CD-ROM drive.
3.
Windows NT: Insert the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM in the computer's CD-ROM drive.
4.
Follow the on-screen directions to restore the preinstalled software.
5.
Install your personal software according to instructions that accompanied each application.
If Windows NT was preinstalled on your computer, you can find necessary components for the
operating system in the \I386 directory of the Recovery CD-ROM.
Restoring Toshiba utilities and drivers
If Windows is working properly, individual drivers or applications can be separately restored. Use
the Tools and Utilities CD-ROM according to instructions in the booklet contained in the CD box
to reinstall Toshiba utilities and drivers.
