Removing memory module
To remove the memory module, make sure the computer is in boot mode.
If you remove memory while the computer is in Hibernation or Resume
(Standby/Suspend) mode, an error will be generated when you turn the
computer back on.
1.
Turn the computer off and remove all cables connected to the
computer and remove the battery pack as described in Chapter 6,
Do not try to remove a memory module with the computer turned on. You
can damage the computer and the memory module.
2.
Turn the computer upside down and remove the two screws securing
the memory module socket cover.
3.
Slide your fingernail or a thin object under the cover and lift it off.
4.
Push the latches to the outside to release the module. A spring will
force one end of the module up.
5.
Grasp the sides of the module and pull it out.
Do not touch the connectors on the memory module or on the computer.
Debris on the connectors may cause memory access problems.
Removing the memory module
6.
Seat the cover and secure two screws holding it in place.
7.
Clear Hibernation files. Refer to the section Clearing Hibernation files.
