fined (see PROFILE) under the enhanced DOS,
however it is not completely independent of the
actual drive being used to do the formatting.
The following table lists which drives can per-
form which format types:

The above table shows that, with the exception
of the Elite Three, the higher capacity drives
can all format lower capacity diskettes.
However, lower capacity drives cannot format
higher capacity diskettes.
