The Elite Series drives consist of read/write,
control, and drive motor electronics; drive
mechanism; read/write head; and an advanced
track positioning mechanism. These components
perform the following functions:
1. Interpret and generate control signals.
2. Move the read/write head to the desired
track.
3. Read and write data.
4. Control drive motor speed.
5. Select between two heads (Elite Two and
Three).
