is automatically assigned to the created virtual partition.

NOTE:

The name for the vPar should be specified

either using –p or –P . Attempts to specify the
vPar name using both options in the same command
line will be considered invalid.

Specifies the nPar to which the vPar belongs to in ASCII
format either as a name or number. This option is

-N nparidentstr

mandatory for a command invoked from OA which that
not specify –z. For commands invoked from the
partition, behavior is to create the vPar in that nPar, if
–n

is not specified. –z and –n are mutually exclusive.

The default parspec is modified with the –n option.

Access level/Bay level:

OA Administrator, OA Operator

Restriction:

You must be connected to the monarch OA.

VPARMODIFY

Command:

vparmodify { -p vpar_id -N npar_id | -p npar_id:vpar_id }
[-a rsrc]...
[-d rsrc]...
[-m rsrc]...
[-P new_vpname]

Description:

Modifies the resources of the specified virtual partition. The command can also rename the
virtual partition.

The options for the command:

can be specified in ASCII format as a vPar number or

-p vparidentstr

a vPar name, or in the format
nparidentstr:vparidentstr

. When specified in

the format nparidentstr:vparidentstr,
nparidentstr

and vparidentstr can either be a

name or number.

NOTE:

When executed from the OA, the vPar should

be identified using the format
nparidentstr:vparidentstr

or used along with

the –N option.

Specifies resources to be added to the virtual partition.

-a rsrc

Specifies resources to be modified in the virtual partition.

-m rsrc

Specifies resources to be deleted from the virtual
partition.

-d rsrc

Specifies a new name for the virtual partition.

-P new_vp_name
