Description:
Allows setting some configuration options, including notification email address and iCAP
system ID. ◦
◦ Allows activation and deactivation of cores in an nPar, or assignment and deassignment
of cores in a vPar.
◦ Defers activation/deactivation of cores in an nPar.
◦ Provides a mechanism for applying iCAP codewords to securely affect the complex iCAP
contract terms.
The options for the command:
Meaning Long option Option
Activate cores in nPar specified
by -p and -v --activate n -a n
Specify the nPar and vPar ID,
separated by “:”. Each ID may be --partition n[:v] -p n[:v]
either a number or a name. When
invoked through IPMI from an OS,
defaults to the originating partition.
Set the number of active cores in
partition to n; activate or deactivate
as necessary. --set-active n -s n
Deactivate n cores in p/v --deactivate n -d n
Instead of immediately initiating an
OLA/D operation for -a/-d/-s, --defer -D
modify the partition IA to take effect
on the next OS boot.
Apply a codeword to the complex. --codeword c -C c
Set contact email address, mostly
for use by GiCAP. --contact c -c c
Set from-email address. A single
complex-wide from-address will be
supported. --from-email -f f
Set iCAP system identification.
NOTE: May differ from complex
name.
--system-identifier i -i i
Warning period for temporary
capacity expiration. --warning w -w w
Reconcile the number of active
cores in the partition to the parspec
IA. --reconcile -r [system_startup]
Pre-authorize Ticap. If on is used,
all further activations are now -T on|off
implicitly authorized to use TiCAP
if required. Off ceases the
pre-authorization.
