ROUND can also round to a number of significant digits if

places is a negative integer (as shown in the second example

ROUND(7.8676,2)

returns

7.87

ROUND(0.0036757,-3)

0.00368

Truncate

Truncates value to decimal places. Also accepts complex

numbers.

TRUNCATE(value,places)

TRUNCATE

can also round to a number of significant digits if

TRUNCATE(2.3678,2)

returns

2.36

TRUNCATE(0.0036757,–3)

returns

0.00367

Mantissa

Mantissa—that is, the significant digits—of value, where

value is a floating-point number.

MANT(value)

Example:

MANT(21.2E34)

returns

2.12

Exponent

Exponent of value. That is, the integer component of the

power of 10 that generates value.

XPON(value)

Example:

XPON(123456)

returns

5

equals 123456)

Maximum. The greater of two values.

MAX(value1,value2)

Example:

MAX(8/3,11/4)

returns

2.75
