Right-click any point in the User Information (Port) table and select Specify User Information (Port). The
Specify User Information (Host) dialog box appears.

The following items are entered automatically and cannot be changed.
• iSCSI Name of the selected port appears. You cannot change the iSCSI name.
• Protocol used in the user authentication appears. This protocol is set to CHAP and you cannot
change it.
Specify the following user information for the selected port.
• User. Enter the user name of the port up to 64 characters. You can use alphanumeric characters,
spaces, and the following symbols in a user name:
. - + @ _ = : / [ ] , ~
User names are case sensitive. For example, the user names port1 and Port1 represent different
users.
If you use the upgraded LUN Manager and the port performed authentication of hosts before
upgrading, Administrator appears as the default. To perform mutual authentication on such a port,
rename the user name of the port.
• Secret. Specify the secret (a password used in CHAP authentication) between 12 to 32 characters.
You can use same characters and symbols as a user name.
• Re-enter Secret. Specify the secret again for confirmation.

Click OK. The specified user information of the port appears in blue in the User Information (Port)
table.

Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.
5.
Click OK. The setting is applied to the disk array.
Clearing user information of ports (when performing mutual authentication)
1.
In the Port tree on the User Authentication tab, expand the iSCSI folder and select a port whose user
information you want to clear.
The currently registered user information of the port appears in the User Information (Port) table below
the User Information (Host) table.

Right-click any point in the User Information (Port) table and select Clear User Information (Port). A
confirmation message appears.

Click OK. The user information of the selected port disappears from the User Information (Port) table.
4.
Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.
5.
Click OK. The setting is applied to the disk array.
Relationship between port settings and connection results
During host authentication, the connection result is determined by the combination of the following port
settings:
•
Port settings in the Port tree: Authentication:ON or Authentication:OFF
•
Whether the user information of the host that is trying to connect is registered on the host
•
Whether the Enable authentication check box is selected for the user information of the host to be
connected
