Checking the status of connection between hosts and the disk array
(iSCSI environment only)
In an iSCSI environment, use LUN Manager to issue a ping command from a disk array port to a host. The
ping command checks whether the host and disk array can communicate with each other. If the host
responds to the ping command, the host and disk array can communicate with each other.
Issuing a ping command from an iSCSI port to a host
1.
Ensure that the Port tab is displayed in the pane.
2.
Click Ping below the Package tree view. The Ping pane appears.
3.
Select an iSCSI port from From (Subsystem Port).
4.
Enter the IP address of the host in To (IP Address).
5.
Click OK. A ping command is issued from the iSCSI port to the host five times. After the ping
command is issued five times, the Ping Result pane appears and displays the results in the order
attempts were made.
• If the host responded to the ping command, the Status column displays Success.
