Creating an AO Configurations Space Moved Report

The AO Space Moved report displays the space moved over the selected time interval for each
AO configuration. The report displays the amount of AO space moves between the selected source
and destination tiers. The space moved between tiers represents a performance overhead for
Adaptive Optimization as it takes system resources and disk bandwidth to move data between
tiers.

The report displays the space moved between tiers. The report uses stacked bar charts to display
the report data. The X-axis (category) represents an AO configuration with space moves between
tiers shown in different colors. The Y-axis (value) indicates the amount of space moved between
the tiers.

A table below the chart differentiates between the type of space moved as follows:

Description

Column

The identification number associated with a specific AO configuration.

ID

The name of the AO configuration.

Name

The tier data is being moved from.

Source Tier

The tier data is being moved to.

Destination Tier

The type of space being moved: admin (adm), user (usr), or snap (snp).

Space

The amount of space moved between the source and destination tiers.

Space Moved

To create a Spaced Moved Report for AO Configurations:
1.

Select Performance & Reports in the Manager Pane.

2.

Click New Report in the Common Actions panel. The Create New Report: AO Configurations
– Space Moved wizard appears.
