This example assumes the following conditions:
•
The primary volume is NTFS-formatted.
•
Both of the primary volumes in the local site and in the remote site are defined as a pair by Con-
tinuous Access Software. In each site, the primary volume and the secondary volume are also
defined as a pair by Business Copy.
•
The system is prepared to operate in a multi-target configuration. For details about preparations
for operations in a multi-target configuration, see “
Preparations for performing backup or restoration
in a cascade configuration or multi-target configuration
•
Both the local site and the remote site have the same directory configuration for an SQL Server
data files and a transaction log file.
•
The SQL Server database for which backup operations are to be performed and database ID must
have the same name both at the local and remote sites.
•
The data files of the SQL Server database and the directory for storing the VDI metafile are in the
same volume.
•
The tape backup management software is installed on the backup server.
•
The parameters of the tape backup management software have been registered by using the
drmtapeinit
command.
