Processing flow
In this example, the processing flow of the
drmfsbackup
command that specifies a user script is as
follows:
•
All application programs that are using the
F
drive are stopped (this is a step in the user pre-pro-
cessing section).
•
The cache of the secondary volume is cleared (this is a step in the user pre-processing section).
•
Once the cold backup from the primary volume to the secondary volume has been completed, the
backup catalog is transferred to the backup server.
•
On the backup server, the secondary volume is mounted on the
D
drive.
•
The secondary volume is backed up to tape by using
NTBACKUP
, and then is unmounted (this is
a step in the user post-processing section).
•
The application programs that use the
F
drive are restarted without waiting for the tape backup
operation to terminate (this is a step in the user post-processing section).
The
drmfsbackup
command terminates without waiting for the tape backup operation to terminate).
