Setting up an FTP service for backing up to tape
When you execute an extended command, temporary files are generated that contain the information
needed for backup and restore processing. If you are executing extended commands in a system
equipped with a file server or a database server and a backup server, these temporary files are
transferred between the servers using the FTP service.
Before using the FTP service, set up an FTP server on the backup server.
The IIS FTP service must be installed on the backup server.
Set the IIS FTP site properties as follows:
•
Set the display style of the directory to
MS-DOS
.
•
Enable basic FTP authentication.
•
For IIS 7.0 and later, do not set Require SSL Connection for the SSL policy.
