USB port information
Message Description
Device Name The name of the attached USB printing device. The
manufacturer supplies this name.
Manufacturer The manufacturer of the attached printing device.
Serial Number The serial number of the attached printing device.
Mode The USB communication mode:
Bidirectional:
Two-way printer communication – Sends print
data to the printer and returns status information from the
printer.
MLC: HP-proprietary protocol for Multiple Logical Channels –
A mode for printers and multi-function devices (such as the
HP LaserJet 1200) that allows multiple channels of
simultaneous print, scan, and status communication.
1284.4: IEEE-standard protocol – A mode for printers and
multi-function devices, such as the HP LaserJet 1200, that
allows multiple channels of simultaneous print, scan, and
status communication.
Unidirectional: One-way print communication from computer
to printer.
Disconnected: A printer connection has not been detected.
