Calibrating the Tester
Calibrating the Tester
Before you begin a test, the FrameScope and DualRemote pair
must be calibrated. Calibration allows the FrameScope to
compensate for slight anomalies in its measurement hardware
or that of the companion DualRemote unit.
Calibrating for Double-Ended Testing
Method A
This method is commonly called method A or the 2-jumper
method and is usually recommended for singlemode fiber.

Insert a Fiber SmartProbe

in the FrameScope, and a Fiber
SmartProbe
+
in the DualRemote. They should both be either
multimode or singlemode.

Connect test jumpers to the two Fiber SmartProbes.

Connect the test jumpers to each other, using two couplers. Connect
the FrameScope transmitter to the DualRemote detector, and vice
versa.

Turn on the FrameScope and DualRemote.
The FrameScope detects a Fiber SmartProbe
