1. To remove the Resin Auto Valve (RAV), unscrew the two (2) M5 x 110mm cap
heads holding the clamp plate than simply pull the RAV free from the head.
2. Use the correct size of spanner to remove the NRV2 from the Top Head Block
3. To remove NRV3 (ASSY-0042), remove top head block bolts and split head into two
sections. Remove head block O-ring (0742). To service the NRV3, first remove
spring retaining pin (0503) and screw M10 bolt partially into the NRV3 valve body
(0493) and pull body to remove it from Head Block (0727).
4. Inspect all head block and NRV galleries. If catalyzed resin is evident, remove
residue, or replace parts as necessary.
5. To disassemble NRVs, remove spring retaining pin, PTFE cone (0489) can be
replaced by removing spring from seat retainer (0490).
6. When using a new PTFE cone, press and turn into NRV seat using thumb pressure
only to ensure a good seal. On reassembly a suitable hook must be used to stretch
the spring sufficiently to enable the retaining pin to be replaced.
7. Reassembly is a reversal of the above procedures. Inspect the head block O-ring
(0742), NRV3 O-ring (0747) and NRV 8 O-ring (0693). Replace using a small
amount of silicon grease to lubricate.
8. To access the NRV8, unscrew the two (2) M5 x 50mm (1063) that fix the Catalyst
Auto Valve to the Bottom Head Block. The NRV8 can then be pulled out of the Block
for servicing.
9. After reassembly, the head must be flushed to check all seals are tight and head
galleries are clean.
