Commissioning the Unit:
1. Check all hoses for wear or damage from shipping, replace if necessary.
2. Check and repair or replace any damaged items before starting.
4. Connect the air supply to the push-fit fitting on the side of the machine cabinet.
Ensure that an air pressure of 6 – 7 bar (85-103psi) is available.
5. If applicable - Connect the resin pick-up pipe to the bottom of the Resin pump and
tighten fully. Place the wand with filter, and the resin recirculation return pipe into a
suitable resin container. Securely anchor wand and return pipe.
Note: it is important to have the end of the return hose into the material for
materials like epoxy to prevent air bubbles from being introduced.
6. If applicable - fill the catalyst jug three quarter full with a suitable catalyst / hardener.
7. Fill the Solvent Tank - at least 3/4 full of solvent.
NOTE: it is important not to let the solvent level fall too low as the SP4 solvent
pump will not work correctly
– the SP4 should always be covered by solvent.
Ensure that any spillages are cleaned up immediately.
8. Ensure that the recirculation button is in the OFF position. Re-set the Emergency
Stop Button by turning it anti-clockwise until the red button springs up.
9. Slide the Main Air supply On/Off switch into the ON position and observe the
incoming air pressure on gauge “Air Pressure”.
10. Adjust the two hand wheels on the Slave arm assembly simultaneously until the
secondary pump is at its maximum stroke.
NOTE: Ensure that the top and bottom readings are identical.
NOTE: If the catalyst pump fails to prime, then it may be required to hand prime
the pump.
– To do this, unscrew the top 12mm shoulder bolt that secures the
catalyst pump shaft to the Top Ratio Arm. Crack open the catalyst output
connection (Top fitting) and push/pull the pump shaft up and down until fluid is
observed at the pump inlet connection (Bottom fitting). Re-tighten the catalyst
output connection, re-fit the pump to the Upper Ratio Arm and re-circulate as
normal until catalyst is observed at the catalyst sight glass.
