Hexadecimal 26-digit English letters and numerals can be
entered in Network Key. Letters and numerals that can be
entered are 0-9 and A(a) - F(f).
■ Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
8 to 64 ASCII characters or symbols can be entered in Network
Key.

This becomes enabled when WEP is selected. Select 1 - 4.
• Use IEEE 802.1X network access control
Select to enable 802.1x validation function.
• EAP type
Select protocol for using 802.1x validation function.
■ PEAP
Protected EAP Protocol (PEAP) used by Windows.NET Server
2003, etc.
■ Smart Card or Certificate
Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol used by Windows 2000
Server, etc.
Ask your network administrator for further 802.1x validation procedure
details.
Monitoring through the Traffic Monitoring
Utility (TMU)
TMU keeps users updated about the current WLAN Module's activity.
Icon Specification
Wireless communication switch off
The Wireless communication switch (located on the bottom of your
Toshiba Pocket PC e830W) is turned off. Tapping on the
icon gives
you a warning message, “Please turn on Wireless communication switch!”
Turn on the switch and the
icon turns to or , depending on the
original WLAN Module Power setting.
