The NSA LEDs (lights) tell you important information.

Blue
On
The NSA is turned on and receiving power.
Off
The NSA is turned off.
SYSTEM Green
On
The NSA has fully started and is operating normally.
Blinking
The NSA is starting up or upgrading the firmware.
Red
On
The NSA has failed.
HDD
Green
On
The hard disk drive is connected properly to the NSA.
Blinking
The NSA is saving data to the hard disk drive.
Red
On
The hard disk drive has failed and the NSA can no longer
detect it.
