Safety precautions
●
Avoid contact with water and fire.
●
Do not dispose of old, defective batteries with ordi-
nary household refuse.
●
During charging, batteries heat up. This is normal and
is not dangerous.

damage the batteries.
●
Only use the plug-in power unit supplied (number
C39280-Z4-C67).

If possible, do not cross the base station plugs. Oth-
erwise the voltage applied to the charging contacts
may surge during storms, for example.
●
Do not operate the handset in environments where
there is danger of explosion.
Only use approved nickel-cadmium (NiCd) bat-
teries or nickelmetalhydride batteries (NiMH)!
(➔ page 86).
Never use other batteries or ordinary (non-re-
chargeable) batteries. These can short circuit or
destroy the battery unit (dangerous). The follow-
ing labels are found on the battery compart-
ments of the handset and charging unit:
Research has shown that in certain cases, med-
ical equipment can be affected by activated
cordless telephones (DECT). A distance of at
least one metre should therefore be maintained
between the telephone and the medical equip-
ment. When using cordless telephones in the
vicinity of medical equipment, the regulations of
the relevant institution must be observed.
