Reinstalling the Controller Card
Use the following procedure to reinstall the controller card:
1. Place the controller card into the guide channels at the top and bottom of the back
opening. Slide the controller card back into the printer. Note that the latches click
when the controller card is in the correct position.
2. Tighten the thumbscrews at the top and bottom of the controller card mounting
bracket.
3. Connect the power cord to the back of the printer.
4. Connect the other end of the power cord to a grounded AC outlet.
5. Switch the printer power on.
6. After the printer warms up, the READY message displays on the operator panel.
Note: If the message display area shows solid rectangles, reseat the card.
7. To confirm that you have correctly installed a memory SIMM, hard drive, data
stream SIMM, or any combination, print a configuration page. The report will list
the features if they have been correctly installed. See “Printing the Printer
Configuration Page” on page 13.
Note: If the options do not appear for the SIMM or hard drive, remove the
controller card, make sure that the SIMM or hard drive is correctly seated, and
reinstall the controller card.
8. Make sure you update your printer driver to indicate the new DRAM SIMM,
PostScript SIMM, IPDS SIMM, Flash Memory SIMM, or hard drive is installed.
