The
installation
of
IBM
Tivoli
NetView
on
Windows
fails
if
the
password
for
creating
a
user
account
does
not
meet
the
system
requirements
Cause
When
installing
IBM
Tivoli
NetView
on
Windows,
the
NetView
installer
creates
a
user
account
on
your
system
for
the
NetView
service.
If
the
password
that
you
are
prompted
to
enter
for
creating
this
user
account
does
not
conform
with
the
password
policy
of
your
system,
the
NetView
installation
fails.
Solution
Ensure
that
the
password
for
creating
the
NetView
user
account
conforms
with
the
password
policy
of
your
system.

for
more
details.
Cause
You
might
want
to
consult
the
agent
manager
logs
to
identify
the
cause
of
this
problem.
The
agent
manager
log
files
are
located
in
the
C:\Program
Files\IBM\tivoli\thinkcontrol\AM\logs
directory.
Possible
causes
might
include:
v
The
port
required
for
the
agent
manager
installation
might
be
busy.
v
The
agent
manager
has
already
been
installed
on
your
system.
Solution
1
If
no
agent
manager
installation
has
been
performed
on
the
server
prior
to
the
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
installation,
follow
these
steps:
1.
Consult
the
agent
manager
log
files
and
make
all
the
necessary
changes
following
the
instructions
in
the
logs.
2.
Retry
the
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
installation.
The
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
installer
will
detect
that
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
is
already
installed
and
will
install
only
agent
manager.
For
more
details
on
the
agent
manager
reinstallation,
refer
to
the
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
Installation
Guide.
Solution
2
If
the
agent
manager
was
previously
installed
on
the
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
installation,
you
should
uninstall
the
agent
manager
first,
and
then
retry
the
Tivoli
Intelligent
Orchestrator
installation.
Uninstalling
the
agent
manager:
Uninstalling
the
agent
manager
uninstalls
the
application
from
your
operating
system
and
removes
the
agent
manager
servlets
from
WebSphere
Application
Server.
The
uninstallation
wizard
does
not
remove
the
registry.
Removing
the
registry
is
an
optional
step
that
you
can
perform
after
running
the
wizard.
The
wizard
also
does
not
uninstall
WebSphere
Application
Server
or
DB2
Universal
Database
Enterprise
Server
Edition,
even
if
those
prerequisite
products
were
installed
along
with
the
agent
manager.
