The 16x16 3G-SDI Matrix w/ Push Button Controls supports both RS-232 and RS-485
protocols. In general, RS-485 (a superset of RS-422) is used in the configuration of
multidrop (point-to-point) communication links and supports up to 32 drivers and 32
receivers (RS-232 only supports a single driver and receiver). RS-485 can sustain data
rates up to 10 MB/s.
Setting the Communication Mode
1. Consecutively press the Comm button to cycle through each of the options.
The current option will be displayed in the LCD.
LCD Screen Description
RS232
RS-232 is the default communication protocol of
the matrix.
RS485
termination on
Use this mode if both ends of the cable are
using termination resistors.
RS485
termination oFF
Use this mode if no termination is being used.
2. Press the Set button to save the desired setting. The LCD will indicate the current
