Expansion cards

The server has two expansion slots on the riser card that can be used for a
variety of expansion cards. These slots support 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI cards. Both
slots will hold full-length, full-height cards.

Replacing an expansion card

You must install an expansion card in slot 1 before you can install an
expansion card in slot 2.

To replace an expansion card:

1

Set any jumpers and switches on the replacement card, if required in the
card instructions.

2

Turn off the server, then disconnect the power cord and all external
peripheral devices.

3

Open the case. See “Opening the case” on page 18 and “Preventing static
electricity discharge” on page 17.

4

Disconnect any cables attached to the old card.

5

Remove the screw that holds the expansion card bracket in place.
