Secure the new processor by pushing the lever arm all of the way down
until it clicks into place.

Replace the heatsink.

Place the fixed end of the heatsink clip over the hook on the processor
socket first, then press the hinged end of the clip over the hook on the
other side of the processor socket.

Close the case. See “Closing the case” on page 20.

Reconnect the power cord and all other cords you removed, then turn
on the system.
Replacing the secondary processor
When replacing a processor, order a processor upgrade from The Accessory
Store on the Gateway Web site.
Caution
The correct heatsink must be installed on each processor.
Installing a processor without a heatsink could result in
damage to, or failure of, the processor. Make sure you
order the correct processor upgrade kit.
