Manual (+L)

A limiter prevents the signal from clipping if the input signal level combined

with the set gain results in signal levels exceeding -6 dBFS.

Auto

Auto

matches a 4 dBu input signal to -20 dBFS. This setting leaves enough

headroom for recording and avoids audio clipping. When

Auto

is selected, au-

dio levels cannot be adjusted by the user.

2. Set channel 1 and 2 control to your preference.

Channel 1/2 Gain

1. Select

MENU > Recording > Audio Recording > Ch 1 Gain

Select

MENU > Recording > Audio Recording > Ch 2 Gain

2. Using the

CLICKWHEEL

, adjust the channel gain. The meters show the current level of the channel

signal in dBFS. Additionally audio levels are displayed on the HOME screen as well as the status

info of the viewfinder and the SDI outputs.

Note: Gain setting is only available when audio recording is enabled and channel control is set to either

Internal Microphones

The internal microphones can be used to record a reference track, sometimes also referred to as

"scratch track". Some software tools can synchronize the master audio to the image using the reference

track. The signal of the internal microphones is recorded to audio channels 3 and 4. The audio

recording level of the internal microphones is fixed, with the left microphone (channel 3) using a +18dB

higher gain than the right microphone in order to cover a wide range of audio levels.
► Select

MENU > Recording > Audio Recording > Internal Microphones

to activate/deactivate recording of the internal microphones.

The microphone icon in the status info of EVF and the SDI outputs indicates active in-

ternal microphones.

Headphones Volume

1. Select

MENU > Recording > Audio Recording > Headphone Volume

.

2. Adjust the headphones' volume to your preference.

Test Tone

The camera can output a 1 kHz sine test tone on all recording channels, on headphones out and the

SDI outputs.
► Select

MENU > Recording > Audio Recording > Test Tone

.

Following options are available:

Off
-9 dBFS
-18 dBFS
-20 dBFS

Note: Test tone can only be activated when audio recording is enabled.
