Cleaning and Maintenance
The VerifyNow Instrument does not require frequent maintenance by the user. However, it is important
to perform light cleaning and simple maintenance on a routine basis in order to maintain the reliability of
the VerifyNow instrument. Table 9-1 lists a recommended cleaning schedule.

The recommended cleaning schedule should be used as a general guideline. Consider adjusting the
schedule based on the environmental conditions in the room.
Refer to the Preventive Maintenance
Kit Instructions for Use for specific details regarding use of the cleaning device and fan filter
replacement.
9.1
Use the Cleaning Device
Depending on the room conditions, small amounts of dust and debris may build up on the pneumatic
port connection of the instrument. A single use, disposable cleaning device is provided to remove
this debris. It consists of a clear plastic component with an adhesive strip. Use the cleaning device to
remove debris from a pneumatic port connection inside the test device port according to the following
procedure:
CAUTION:
Excessive use of cleaning devices can damage the
instrument. Cleaning more often than once a week is not recommended,
unless prompted at the display screen.
Materials
•
Preventive Maintenance Kit (Accumetrics Catalog No. 85062, 13/pack)
Procedure
1.
Locate the cleaning device pack, and remove cleaning device from pouch (Figure 9-1).

NOTE: Accumetrics recommends you have at least
3 cleaning devices on hand for routine use. Refer to
the Appendix for ordering information.
2.
Grasp the cleaning device using the finger grip and
remove the opaque tape strip. Discard the
tape.
