Sets whether to convert the image displayed on
the viewfinder or LCD screen to close to
normal video when shooting using a picture
profile with S-Log or HLG (p. 58).
ON/OFF: Turns the gamma display assist
function on/off.
TYPE: Sets the type of conversion.
• Movies shot using S-Log2 or S-Log3, which
require editing in post production, have
images shot with low contrast that make live
monitoring difficult. Movies shot using HLG/
HLG1/HLG2/HLG3 also have low contrast
when displayed on the viewfinder or LCD
screen, which do not support HDR, and
movies shot using BT.2020 color mode have
washed out colors.
To counter this, you can use [GAMMA DISP
ASSIST] to obtain the contrast and color
reproducibility that is close to normal video
for display on the viewfinder and LCD screen
to make monitoring easier.
• This function affects only the monitoring
video or playback video displayed in the
viewfinder or on the LCD screen. The
recorded video and output video are not
affected.
