Selecting fonts
Once you have inserted a font cartridge, you can select the fonts
you want to print using your application program.
Removing a font cartridge
Follow these steps to remove a font cartridge:
CAUTION:
Never remove a font cartridge when the printer is on line, in
SelecType mode, or resetting itself. If you do, a REINSERT or
REMOVE CARD message appears on the display. You will
also see one of these messages if you remove a cartridge while
the FEED light is on (even if the printer is off line).
1. Make sure the printer is off line or turned off. If the FEED
light is on, press FEED to print out any data before you
remove the cartridge.
2. Remove the cartridge by grasping firmly and slowly pulling
it straight out of the slot.
Recovering from an error
When the display shows one of the following messages, a
cartridge error has occurred:
REINSERT CARD
ILLEGAL CARD
REMOVE CARD
You cannot use the cartridge or print documents until you
solve the problem. See “Messages” in Chapter 3 for instructions.
