4. Note the drive designator just below the icon. If it is /dev/hdc, then the second drive is
the one that has failed. If it is /dev/hdd, then the primary drive is the one that has failed.
(The primary drive is the one that is connected to the longer SATA cable.)
5. Power down your MeeBox and replace the failed drive with one of the same or larger
capacity. (See Adding a second internal hard drive, above.)
6. Turn your MeeBox on.
When you turn your MeeBox back on, it will automatically recreate the RAID 1 array,
duplicating the contents of the healthy drive to the new one. While this operation is in
progress, the MeeBox’s power button/indicator will continue to blink alternating colors.
You can check the progress of this operation by returning to the RAID Settings page of the
admin interface.
Tearing down a RAID array
If you wish to stop using a RAID array (for example, if you wish to use only one internal drive
or to use each internal drive as an independent volume), do the following:
1. In your web browser, go to http://meebox:8090/, log in, and click MeeBox Settings.
2. Click Advanced Settings, then click Management, and then click RAID.
3. Click Remove RAID.
Your MeeBox will power down. When you turn it back on, each drive will be treated as an
independent volume.
Upgrading the capacity of a RAID 1 array
It is possible to upgrade the capacity of a RAID 1 (mirrored) array by replacing each drive
with another of higher capacity. Drives must be replaced one at a time, and you must
allow the system to completely rebuild the array after you replace the first drive before
you replace the second.
