2. Execute Offline Utility 04, 08, and 10 to reload the serial number, set the date,

and set the time. You may also set date and time from online utility 2/1.

3. Reinstall feature bits from the original FADs using online utility 1/9 or from

the floppy created using utility 0/5.

New Hardware Installation Procedures

The installation of new hardware features onto the SCON-20L/22L can be very
similar to the replacement of existing hardware with a couple of notable exceptions.
First you will be removing and discarding existing plates and brackets, and
substituting feature boards in their place. Secondly, you will need to know where
to place the new board, since the existing 20L/22L does not already have one
installed. Finally, you may need to inform the software, through configuration,
that the new hardware has been installed.

Second CDA Installation (SCON-22L Only)

1. Follow the procedures for removing the covers from the SCON-22L.

2. Locate the metal plate attached to rear bracket, covering 4 openings at the rear

of the 22L. This metal plate is located next to the J2 location as shown in the
Physical Slot Identification drawing (Figure 3-1)

3. Remove the two screws securing the metal plate to the rear bracket, and discard

the bracket.

4. Use the two screws removed in step 3 to secure the CDA board into place,

ensuring that the CDA is plugged into the J2 connector.

5. Reassemble the covers.

6. Using the SCON-20L/22L/25L Configuration Manual as a guide, verify that

your configuration includes 32 coax ports (it may be configured for 16 coax
ports only). Reconfigure as needed.
