Chapter 3. Board Population
Introduction
This chapter presents SCON-20L/22L Console Concentrator board placement
information to provide optimum performance. Information includes board names,
identification (ID) descriptions, and slot population information.
Printed Circuit Board Names
The following lists the names for all the printed circuit boards that can be used in
SCON-20L/22L Console Concentrators. Some of the boards are optional. The
printed circuit boards are typically referred to by their abbreviated names.

Fast Ethernet NIC
TRC II
Token Ring NIC

Slot Population and Identification
Many of the printed circuit boards for the Console Concentrator are located in
partitions called slots, which are identified with numbers.
Use the following charts to determine the slot(s) in the Console Concentrator into
which these boards may be installed. Dependent upon configuration parameters,
circuit boards may only occupy certain physical slots. Some errors occur because
of incorrect slot population.
The SCON-20L/22L allows most boards to be installed in any available slot. Presented
herein are slot choices, which the circuit boards may occupy.
