Chapter 5. Assembly Removal/Replacement
Replacement
1. Align the assembly guideposts into place on the mounting bracket.
2. Press the operator panel into place using great caution. The plastic tabs that
hold the operator panel in place are very fragile and can easily be broken.
3. Connect the cable assembly.
4. Replace the covers.
Floppy Disk Drive
The following procedure describes removing the 3.5-inch diskette drive.
Removal
1. Ensure power is off. Remove the covers.
2. Locate and disconnect the drive control and power supply cables.
3. Remove the four screws attaching the disk drive to its bracket. There are two
screws located on each side of the drive bracket.
4. Carefully slide the drive from its bracket.
Replacement
1. Align the disk drive into its mounting track.
2. Carefully slide the disk drive into its bracket.
3. Install the screws to attach the drive to the bracket.
4. Connect the drive control and power supply cables.
5. Replace the covers. If the drive does not match to the opening in the main
cover, you may have to loosen the drive and reposition it, prior to remounting
the top cover.
Hard Disk Drive
The hard disk drive with bracket is installed in the lower floppy drive bay. The
following procedure describes removing the hard disk drive.
Removal
1. Ensure power is off. Remove the covers.
2. Locate and disconnect the drive control, fan, and power supply cables.
3. Remove the four screws attaching the disk drive to its bracket. There are two
screws located on each side of the drive bracket.
4. Carefully slide the drive from its bracket.
