Power Switch
The SCON-20L/22L Console Concentrator Power switch is located near the front lower
left corner of the unit. Set the switch to the On ( | ) position to turn on power, and set the
switch to the Off (O) position to turn off power.
Keypad
Diag - Initiates the diagnostics facility.
Adv - The Adv (Advance) key advances the operator panel display.
Clear - Erases previously entered data, provided that the Enter key has not been pressed.
Numbers 0 through 9 - Used to enter parameters and perform other data entry functions.
Enter - Used to enter data. Press the Enter key after pressing a string of keys that
represent parameters.
Alt - Used to initiate modes of operation such as diagnostics and configuration.
Alt, 1, Enter - Toggles ESCON channel 1 on-line or off-line.
IML - Pressing IML (Initial Machine Load) causes the Console Concentrator to perform
its Basic Assurance tests (BATs), and displays a series of IML state codes.
Note: Disabled while online. Press and hold 0 key and then press IML key to IML
while online.
The following are valid when IML 500 is displayed:
Adv - Continue IML with System Microcode. No extended BATs are executed. If an
alternate drive and state have been entered (Enter options), then the specified System
Microcode is loaded. Otherwise, the System Microcode in production on the first hard
disk containing a System Disk subdirectory is loaded.
Alt, Adv - Same as Adv, but execute extended BATs during IML.
Diag - Enter Diagnostics mode.
Config - Load default Customization Data Objects instead of those defined on the
System subdirectory allowing the Console Concentrator to IML with default
customization parameters. This also loads the default configuration allowing entering
the Configuration utility without entering a password.
Alt, Config - Same as Config, but execute extended BATs during IML.
