Mother Board Assembly

The Mother Board contains nonvolatile memory which is used to hold information
regarding the serial number and any feature bits installed from FADs. Care should
be taken to record the serial number associated with the unit, and to remove the
feature bits prior to replacement of the Mother Board if possible. The feature bits
can be removed by using the online utility 1/9 if you have access to the original
FAD disks or using utility 0/5 using a blank diskette, if the current Mother Board is
functional. Once the new board is installed, you will need to restore the serial
number and feature bit information. If the old Mother Board was not functional,
you will have to use the orginal FADs to restore the feature bits. Reference the
LINCS Central Control Mode manual for information regarding online utilities.
