Span Endpoint Maintenance Screen
The Span Endpoint Maintenance screen (Figure 3.13) is accessed by moving the
cursor to the “Maintenance” field in the Span Endpoint Details screen and
pressing the “Enter” key. This screen supports maintenance operations (e.g.,
loopbacks) to be performed on segment endpoints.

The Span Endpoint Maintenance parameters are described as follows:
L oop b ack Typ e This field controls configuration of loopbacks for the associated segment
endpoint.
Values:No Loopback, Normal Loopback, Special Loopback
Default:No Loopback
NOTICE: Only the Normal Loopback option has been implemented for the
WANsuite 5650.
L o op b ack T im eo u t This field configures the timeout value in minutes for loopbacks initiated at
segments endpoints contained in the associated unit. A value of 0 (zero)
disables the timeout.
T ip R in g This field indicates the state of the tip/ring pair at the associated segment
endpoint.
P o w er B a ck off This field configures the receiver at the associated segment endpoint to
operate in default or enhanced power backoff mode.
