These messages mean that the appliance under test is switched off
or the fuse may be open circuit, or it maybe possible that the
appliance under test will draw more than 18A and could damage the
Supernova. User discretion is required. If in doubt do not test and
seek advice.
Temperature monitoring
The tester is provided with temperature monitoring facilities to ensure
that prolonged tests do not overheat sensitive components. If ,
during testing a ‘Hot’ warning is displayed, switch off any EUT, and
allow the tester to cool. This is provided to allow the EUT to be
switched off in a controlled way. If the tester determines that damage
will occur if the test is allowed to continue, the test will be switched off
and the following message will be displayed:-

Multiple Earth connections:
In general, multiple earth connections to an EUT (e.g. water pipe
connections to a water heater) can cause difficulties in measurement.
This has previously needed the additional earth connections to be
isolated.
The Supernova tester is capable of testing earth connections in the
presence of additional earth paths. This is done automatically by
performing a point to point measurement of the earth connection, and
measurement of the differential leakage current, rather than the earth
