Adding a Database
From the File drop down select New.
Note
If both Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 and Oracle 10g are available to PATGuard then the user must select
which database format to use.
The Data Link Properties dialog box will appear as shown above. Ensure the Data Source is correct for your
instance of SQL Server program then:
For Microsoft SQL Server 2008, type a new database name into 3. Select the database: then select OK.
For Microsoft SQL Server 2005, type a new database name into 3. Enter the initial catalog to use: then select
OK.
For Oracle, enter the relevant User name and Password and check the Allow saving password checkbox then
select OK.
Note
For Oracle – a user should already have been set up in the Oracle database (refer to Oracle Help for instructions)
Adding Clients
To add a Client record, double click the Add Client icon or highlight the database on the tree view, right click the
mouse to display the context menu then select Add Client.
