Host handler channel
The host modem port number. The default port number is none, which is set using
MODEMS.BIN.

The 13-digit terminal ID received from your Buypass representative.

Note: This must be blank. The parameter is no longer used for Buypass
configuration.

Two digit numbers. The default numbers are 00 20 00 00. Enter the numbers by
typing the following:

Note: Repeat Enter as required, to exit host handler data.
• The first two digits are maintained by the MODEM.BIN program.
• The second two digit number is a hexadecimal value for the number of seconds
to allow the carrier to be received (this is called Carrier Timeout). The default 20
sets it for 32 seconds. Setting it for 10 would make it 16 seconds, 18 would be
24 seconds, 28 would be 40 seconds, and 30 would be 48 seconds.
Note: Carrier Timeout cannot be set to greater than or equal to the number of
seconds as the Verification Timeout parameter, as on
• The third two digit number is not used.
• The fourth two digit number is the carrier synchronization time in tenths of a
second. The range is 03 and 06. Setting it to 00 is the same as 03 (or
three-tenths of a second).
• The fifth two digit number is the time in seconds to wait for ENQ. The range is
01-30. The default is 15 seconds, which is used if the value is set to 00. Some
sites will show improved connectivity if this is set to 3 seconds.
• If setting up a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT), the sixth two digit number
is required. Refer to

• The fifteenth two digit number is maintained by the DEBUG.BIN program (refer

The default Buypass configuration also includes parameters for accepting manually-entered
account numbers for Wright Express, Voyager, and Gulf, after the clerk presses the appropriate
