Free-arm Sewing

«For fres-arm sewing

1. Grip the extension table with your index finger and

thumb.

2. Pull getitly to the left. The extension tabie will snap

out.

• For flat4j0d sewing

1. insert the tab and the pin into their catches.

2. With your thumb and index finger, gently snap in.

Changing Needle

(D Needle clamp screw

m Turn off the power switch.

Raise the needle to its highest position by turning

the handwheel counterclockwise, toward you, and

lower the presser foot.
Loosen the needle ciamp screw (J) by turning it
counterclockwise.
Remove the needie from the clamp @ .

[i] Insert a new needle into the needle clamp (|) with

the flat side to the rear.
When inserting the needle into the clamp, push it up as
far as it goes. Tighten the ciamp screw Q) firmly by
turning it clockwise.

] To check for a good needle, pface the flat side of

the needie onto something flat (needle plate,

The gap between the needle and the flat surface
should be consistent. Never use a bent or blunt

needle.

A damaged needle can cause permanent snags

or runs in knits, fine silks and silkTike fabrics.

Changing Pressar Foot

(J) Presser bar

(|) Thumbscrew

To change the presser foot, raise the presser bar.

Loosen the thumb screw, choose the proper foot and insert

from the bottom.

Tighten the thumb screw using the large screwdriver to make

certain the foot is secure.
