Volume Punchthrough Feature

You niiiy find this feature hel|;tful if you’ve connected your devices to an audio system, and you

want to use the T\”s remote c:ontrol to operate the volume for a device that is connected to the
audio system. An exam[>le follows:

Let’s say you’ve connected your DVD player to your audio system. You’ve also jarogrammed your

TV remote control to operate your DVD player. Since the DVD player sends its volume through

the audio system, yoi.i would have to bounce back a.nd forth between two remote controls: the
audio system’s remote to adjust the volume and the W’s remote c:ontrol to operate the DVD
player.

Hie Vtilume Punchthrough feature eliminates the need ftcr you to use two reuaote ccintrols and

saves a button press when you’re using the dV remote to adjitst the volume. In effect, you are
tellitig the lY remote to retrieve atrcl send volume commatids from the audio system whenever
the 'lY renaote is in DVD mode.

Therefore, after you’ve successfully set up the Vcrlitnie Punchthrough feature, whenever the "D'

remote is in DVD mode (press the DVD button) and you want to adjust the volume, you only
have to press the VOL or Mf.ITE buttons. Follow the instructions below to set up Volume
Punchthrough,

1. C>n your remote control, simultaneously press and hold the ON •OFF and MLiTE buttons

(approximately 3 seconds) until a device button remains lit, Then release the buttons.

2. Press atrcl hold the MUTE button until the device button blinks off, then release the M.UTE

button.

3. Press and release the device button that you programmed to operate the audio system

(receiver or ampfiffer).

4. Press and release the MUTE button.

5. Now, test it by turning on your audio system.

6. Turn on the device that is connected to the ai.idio system (satellite receiver, for example).

7. Put the TV’s remote in SAT• AUX mode hy pressing the SAT• AUX button.

8. Press VOL+ or VOL-. The volume from the audio system should increase or decrease

ac:cordingly.

Deleting ALL Volume Punchthrough Commands

To delete all programmed Voltune Punchthrough settings and return the .iremote control back to

the factoiy' default:

1. Simitlta.n.eously press and hold the C)N»OFF and MUIT buttons (approxi.mately 3 seconds)

until a device button remains lit. Then release the buttons,

2. Press and hold the ML.]TE button until the device button blinks off, then release the M.in’E

button.

3. Press and release the MUTE button.

4. Tire remote .retunrs to normal V’l.jlume.-'Mute control.
