14. Calibration (Adjusting Scale)

14. Calibration (Adjusting the Scale)

The scale is an instrument which weighs the "weight" and displays its "mass".

Calibration is the adjustment function so that the scale can weigh correctly.

Three steps of calibration are available

Gravity Acceleration Correction ... The function to correct the scale’s local gravity

acceleration, so that the scale functions
correctly when the calibrated scale has been
moved to a distant place.

Refer to the "Gravity Acceleration Table" on

the next page.

Calibration of the Zero Point ......... The function to adjust the zero point, so that

the zero point mark is displayed when there is
nothing on the pan.

Comment The zero point is the fundamental starting point

to weigh anything and influences the
performance of scale.

Span Calibration.............................. The function to adjust the span with a

calibrated mass, so that the scale can
accurately weigh anything within the weighing
capacity.

Comment Span means the range of weighing capacity.

Use a calibration mass heavier than two thirds
of the weighing capacity.

Caution

Check the accuracy of weighing periodically. Calibrate the scale, if it has
been moved to another location or the environment has changed.

Gravity

acceleration

correction is not required, when the scale is calibrated

with the calibration mass at the place where the scale is used.
