PMP tab
The PMP tab is the single access point to all device information and actions that you may perform
on a PMP (except product license installations – see Install a license for details. It is divided into
two main areas: a general device information pane and a secondary tabbed pane.
General device information pane
The general device information pane shows device identification, location information, and
communication addresses. The area may also contain special controls for actions to perform on
the device.
To align the PMP date and time with the PC date and time, click Synchronize.
To view the Error log or the Event log, click View log. Select one or both check boxes, and click
View. The Welch Allyn Service Tool displays each log in a separate window. The Event log
displays the PMP internal and external commands. The Error log displays the errors that have
occurred on the device. When each log reaches the maximum number of records, the first record
is deleted and the latest record is stored in the respective log.
Select the X in the upper right corner to close each window.
Device information tab
The device information tab displays the configuration of the device, including installed modules,
installed firmware, and hardware versions. The battery and temperature probe do not have a
firmware version. The manufactured date is determined from the serial number. There is no
manufactured date for the communication ports, printer, battery, temperature probe, or the
Masimo SpO2 sensor. The communication ports, printer, and radio do not have a serial number.
Directly under the configuration information, two panes display warranty and repair information for
the device.

in the detail pane to the right. Refer to the specific device help file within the Welch Allyn Service
Tool.
Upgrade tab

with firmware available for upgrade.
